Viveks was one of the first to introduce the concept of hire purchase in order to attract customers and enable them to increase their buying potential. Viveks made consumer durables more affordable to customers through the easy installment schemes. Since borrowing money was considered a moral offense four decades ago, great care was taken to maintain customer integrity. Vivek Hire Purchase & leasing (VHPL) is a public limited company incorporated in February 1990 under the Companies Act and registered as a Non Banking Finance Company with the Reserve Bank of India and is classified as Hire Purchase & Leasing Company since September 1998.

It extends consumer finance for a wide range of consumer durables and home appliances, office equipments, portable gensets and two wheeler vehicles. VHPL has an excellent track record having facilitated finance for over 120,000 customers and an aggregate cumulative disbursement exceeding Rs. 100 crores (USD 23 million) since inception.

VHPL is managed by a board of directors along with a competent team of experienced professionals. VHPL enjoys a significant market share (55% to 60%) in consumer finance and has penetrated into Bangalore and other semi-urban and rural towns of Tamil Nadu. VHPL has created a brand for its consumer finance product named “EASY 2 BUY – NEVER SAY NO”.

VHPL apart from consumer finance also extends personal loans, commercial trade loans and bill discounting facilities to its customers. VHPL also takes fixed deposits and is rated by CARE, Credit Rating Agency.
